Another health revolution has arrived, says Dr. Michael Bonner in his
well-researched new book The Oral Health Bible, and there is no longer any
separation between mouth medicine and body medicine. The mouth is completely
connected to the body, he says, and is a doorway to achieving peak health
and wellness in all the body’s systems. This informative book contains an
action plan for taking charge of our oral health and it educates us and our
physicians and dentists by detailing how many debilitating health
problems-conditions such as arteriosclerosis, heart attacks, strokes,
rheumatoid arthritis, and premature and low-birth-weight babies-are
intimately linked to oral health and hygiene.. Dr. Bonner emphasizes the
importance of finding and treating periodontal (gum) disease because,
untreated, it can lead to heart attacks and strokes. He sees more gum
disease now than he did twenty-five years ago, he says, largely because of
the increasing availability of harmful oral hygiene products on the market.
Mouthwashes, for example, are generally considered trustworthy, but in
reality, they are the cause of 3600 cases of oral cancer a year. Moreover,
500 people are killed annually from alcohol ingestion related to
mouthwashes. Dr. Bonner discusses safe, effective oral health techniques and
products in order to reverse gum disease with its far-reaching negative
consequences. He also outlines how nutritional supplements can help deliver
potentially enormous benefits to oral, as well as overall, health. In 1910,
the Mayo (clinic) brothers said, "A person with a healthy mouth will live
ten years longer."
Raves About The Book
This book takes center stage! April 17, 2006
Reviewer: Joan Fitzgerald "RDH" (Manchester, NH USA)
This book takes center stage in our reception and treatment rooms!
Instrumental in my clinical practice as a dental hygienist are the very
points made in this ground breaking and prevention oriented guide to oral
health. No more will I struggle to explain the connection of the health of
the mouth to total body health. My treatment and home oral health
recommendations have been aligned with those in this book for over 15 years.
And I have witnessed the positive difference with my patients especially
when the top 10 nutritionals for oral health are taken and irrigation with
the Oxycare 3000 becomes a daily routine. Read it - Study it - and most
importantly - Do it! Thank you Drs. Bonner and Mindell for helping us learn
how we can improve oral health, practitioners and people alike!

Dr. Bonner Trys to Spread The Truth, March 30, 2005
Reviewer: Sean Ferguson "constant reader" (NY, NY)
Dr. Michael Bonner is the only medical author I know of who emphasizes the
seriousness of dental and gum disease, and its impact on cardiac health.
Though others have written about the topic, Dr. Bonner sounds the alarm, and
gives the reader a protocol which can reverse oral disease, and promote a
return to vital health.
What I learned about the impact of C-reactive protein (Crp),
and the tests he tells you to take to identify it, and the steps you need to
take (how to keep your gums and mouth healthy)to lower it have been
potentially life-saving for me. Clearly written and well organized, I rate
it 5 stars.

It's About Time!, February 28, 2004
Reviewer: Dr. John Hammer, Periodontist (Phoenix, AZ)
It is about time that the modern medicine world discovered the
connection between oral health/disease and systemic health/disease.
Generally speaking, if a person's oral health is good, they have a better
chance of having good systemic health. Dr. Bonner is describing a way for
oral health to be improved with nutrition and proper oral hygiene
techniques. Better oral health equates to better systemic health.
It's About Time. Good job, and congratulations on your new book, Dr. Bonner.

Oral health home run, November 20, 2003
Reviewer: Dr Donovan Sigerfoos (austin, tx United States)
This is an interesting, fun to read, and very important work for anyone
and everyone interested in a holistic approach to improve their health. It
caused me to reflect on the many patients whom I have cared for as an
Internist over the past twenty years, and to lend thought with regard to the
state of their oral health and its relationship to their overall health. To
say the least, the advice is straightforward, safe, and easy to follow, and
Dr Bonner has apparently taken the creed "First Do No Harm" seriously as he
dispenses his logical formularies and advice. I am recommending this book to
my patients without hesitation.
